6 Sessions which build upon each other
Tuesdays from 9:30-noon
9/13, 9/27, 10/11, 10/25, 11/8, 11/22/11
Limited to 5 participants (women only)
Description:The LSP is a personal art piece focused on various points of choice, chance, challenge, and change in one’s life, and provides a colorful and individualized celebration of the ongoing process of living. It is a great process for folks celebrating a milestone birthday (like 50). What makes it powerful is that it literally shows your whole life, activating the right brain, yet also utilizing the left brain for some writing and discernment about how events unfolded. The LSP is holistic in its approach and it is particularly suited for persons who want to reflect on where they have been, patterns and themes within their lives, and how they want to move forward with the second half of their lives. Participants will receive individualized contact from the facilitator bi-weekly, and will need to commit time between sessions to do some "homework". Pre-screening with facilitator required.

"Mandalas: Exploring Sun Self & Shadow Self"
Tuesday, March 29, 2011
6:30-9:00 PM
For Adults and Teens aged 15+
Limited to 12 participants
Sun and shadow define each other; one cannot have one without the other. By exploring our “sun symbols” (the part we feel we are most like) and their opposites through pastels, collage and writing exercises, we can more deeply understand the ways in which the “shadow” part of us has gifts or messages for us. The interplay between our “sun symbols” and our “shadow symbols” can help us integrate to wholeness as represented by the mandalas we create. No artistic expericence necessary.

Testimonials about the above workshop:
"I thought at first I would be looking at complete opposites (andrea and anti-andrea) but truth be told, what I discovered were very complimentary traits / attributes that define more than I initially recognized. And the more I consider them, the more I see myself in each. Thank you again for a wonderful class."
~Andrea McNeely~(Oregon)

“I loved the evening. I loved the opportunity to become creative once again. It’s been a long time and I am really out of practice. Seemed good to have pastels in my hands, again!!  I had a great time!!!”

Testimonial on the above workshop:
"I wanted to take a minute and thank you for offering this class ["Sharing Creativity to Create Community/Art Dialogue"] at PNWD!  What a treat it was!  You were so well organized and the class format adapted well to the short amount of time it had. The pacing clipped right along without me feeling rushed in the creation of my collage.  The summary/conclusion was really the highlight for me; very thought provoking and a good hands-on lesson for all of us about the web of interdependence in which we all reside!!

“Art Dialogue: Creating Community with Art”
Saturday, October 16, 2010
9:30 AM- 12:00 PM
Participants in this playshop will each have a hand in creating each other’s final art piece and the results promise to be dynamic, fun, synchronistic and enlightening! We live in a culture that is very centered on individual achievement and ownership, but creating community requires that everyone’s talents and gifts are honored. In this project, “ownership of outcome” will be abandoned as we discover what we can wonderfully create with each other and for each other. The project will be a whimsical, multimedia surprise that will take us all on a journey of exploration of what we have to share with each other in this world. Guaranteed to get us talking!!

Touch Drawing is for everyone regardless of artistic talent!
Touch Drawing provides an amazing doorway to creativity where the focus is on the process rather than the end result. Each drawing becomes a stepping stone towards self discovery and takes one deeper into the nonverbal realm. Touch Drawing offers creative play, gentle emotional release, exploration of the unknown, and allows expression when there are no words. As simple as finger painting, hands become the paint brush and images pour through your fingers. This process has been used with people who believe they are not creative…artists of all ages and physical or cognitive abilities!
